Art in the Park is open to the public and admission is FREE. It’s the perfect event to enjoy a day – or a weekend  – filled with beautiful and unique juried art, a wide variety of children’s art activities, toe-tapping music and delicious food.

This year’s artists will feature treasures for home, garden and gifts in metal, jewelry, painting, multimedia, even upcycling. Whether you’re looking for that perfect something that speaks to you, or just want to take in all the beautiful artistry on display, Art in the Park can fit the bill.

Plenty of parking, located centrally at James D Beville City Park in Leitchfield. Look for signs to our new location in the park. It’s just above the Pavilion area, with easy access from Wallace Avenue, near the Leitchfield Aquatic Center.  For a more detailed view, just click here.

Enjoy non-stop entertainment both days with a variety of musical acts to please every taste.

Young budding artists can create to their heart’s content in our Children’s Pavilion which will host special art projects complete with takeaway lessons to recreate them at home. Take a look at some of the unique creations in store this year.

Picture1  10 – 12 pm Birdhouse Assemblage and Painting: Students will use acrylic paint to decorate unfinished wooden birdhouses.

12:30 pm Presentation of Student Art Show Awards

Picture2  1:30-3:30 Playful Personalities, a 3D Cubist Painting: Students will create a Cubistic 3D painted portrait in the style of Modern artist, Pablo Picasso. Using pre-cut pieces of cardboard, foam shapes, and other materials that can be easily glued to the cardboard base, students will create a Cubistic arrangement that will be painted with acrylics.

Sunday, May 20

Picture311:00-1:00 Spiral Cut Chandeliers:  Far less complicated than a Chihuly installation, a fanciful hanging piece with multiple spirals and swirls will be created using just a few sheets of plastic poster board, scissors, and book rings.
